Building a dental practice today is very different today than it was just 5 or 10 years ago.  The competitive landscape has changed, patients more than ever are looking for a modern practice that not only has a friendly staff but has the latest technology.  Your patients are connected through social media, they are talking with their friends about their experiences with everything.  If your practice doesn't give your patients something to talk about with their friends, they are going to be persuaded to go visit another dental practice that offers single visit Cerec dentistry, or pain free needle free laser dentistry!  What happens when your patient sees images like this on their first visit to another practice...

PATIENTS DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD YOUR MARGINS ARE

Patients have no idea how good you are clinically, they actually assume all dentists have the same education and clinical capabilities.  They don't decide who they are going to go to for their dental work based on how good you can prep, it's similar how you would choose a mechanic.  We have no clue how good our mechanic is, but we do know how they talk with us and educate us about what is wrong with our car.  We decide based on how clean and modern the shop is and if they use high tech analysis tools and digital wheel alignment systems to work on our car.  

The next time a new patient walks into your practice I want you to think about their experience in your practice and what they are thinking.   Hopefully they get a tour of your practice and will see a nice new modern facility with amazing technology that will show them that you have invested in the practice to provide them with the highest level of care.  If you have made the investment in technology it's the teams job to make sure every patient knows about your digital xrays, Cerec, laser etc, and why it benefits them!

As a patient you receive many marketing pieces trying to lure you away from your existing dentist, we all get them and they all go in the trash.  Why, because they are all the same $59 new patient offer.  This is where the revolving door begins, patients in...  patients out.   This is why the high tech offices are winning, they are making more money, taking away the good patients who want quality dentistry and are willing to pay a premium... and they won't leave you!
