What you can print
Maximize MoonRay's potential by printing multiple models at once, making your workflow faster and more economical. Here's a break down of the cost and production time of the most common types of dental parts you can print with MoonRay:
moonray vs formlabs printer
#1. Type of 3D Printing Technology
DLP Technology cures a layer of resin at a time - Light Projected full layer where Form2 (SLA) cures with laser pointed light. MoonRay cures 1"/hour at 100 Microns - CEREC .STL file size is 100microns with Form2 at 140 Microns Resolution
DLP Technology is 2-3X faster than SLA and up to 10X faster on complex prints.
#2. MoonRay is an open Resin system
www.nextdent.com is leading manufacturer of Dental Resin Materials)
Form2 has a proprietary cartridge system which has fewer materials and customer has to purchase all resins from FormLabs (like HP ink cartridges with their printer). Example: New Ortho Clear Formlabs $499/liter - Exact Same Material as NextDent $299/liter, Surgical Guide Resin Form2 $399, MoonRay $249
#3. Cost of Ownership/Maintenance:
MoonRay - Change Resin Tank up to every 50 Liters of Resin
Form2 - Change Resin Tank ($60/ea) every 1-2 Liters of Resin
#4. Miscellaneous:
• Remote printing available with MoonRay/not available with Form2
• One Resin Tank for all Resin Materials (MoonRay) and different Resin Tank required for each Form2 Resin Material used
• Cost: Form2 $3499 plus $500 Live Support & MoonRay S $3999 with Live/Training included
• Both offer Plans to Replace 3D Printer "HOT SWAP" $499/year Form2 and $399/year MoonRay
