HYBENX is the company’s first product introduction into the dental market that safely and effectively eliminates necrotic debris and bacteria. This action restores infectious oral tissue to a healing state.
HYBENX® is a topical therapeutic liquid. It is intended for use in the oral cavity as adjunctive agents to enhance the debridement and decontamination of necrotizing lesions during standard dental procedures to facilitate healing and reduce patient discomfort. Application of HYBENX® is not intended as a treatment for a specific oral cavity disease, or, as a replacement for any current standard therapeutic technique or product.\
A typical application of HYBENX® begins with layering, or irrigating, varying amounts, usually less than one milliliter, directly onto the surface of an oral lesion, such as a mucosal ulcer or periodontal pocket. The product is left in place for 5 – 60 seconds then is removed with a water rinse. HYBENX® is most often applied only once during treatment of a lesion.
HYBENX® can be characterized by its functionality as clinical tool that was designed to perform controlled, intense, instantaneous water extraction from the topmost layer of necrotized tissue on a lesion surface.
HYBENX® essentially is a therapeutic instrument used to instantaneously convert necrotized tissues, microbial biofilm and other proinflammatory pathogenic substances on the surface of an oral lesion into harmless devitalized tissue coagulum whenever and wherever that would be beneficial. It is expected that users of HYBENX® will adapt specific application techniques to best fit their own treatment protocols to provide the greatest clinical benefit possible to their patients.
In order to clearly demonstrate the entire mechanism of action of HYBENX®, it is helpful to regard it as consisting of three separate concurrent processes and to discuss each process separately. The first is the process by which HYBENX® extracts water from tissue surfaces leading to tissue surface desiccation. The second is the process by which the tissue surface desiccation leads to formation of tissue surface coagulum. The third is the process by which the formation of the tissue surface coagulum provides clinical benefits.
